Mosquito Dunks® use a bacterium that is deadly to mosquito larvae but harmless to other living things.
For long-lasting mosquito control, Dunk'inators™ maintain the Mosquito Dunks® opposite the downspout, at the end of the rain gutter.
Every time it rains, water flows down the gutter's whole length, bringing some of the BTI with it. By staying in any standing water left in the rain gutter, this bacterium kills mosquito larvae.
Regardless of how often they are wet and then dry, Mosquito Dunks® continue to work effectively.
After consuming blood, female mosquitoes search for areas with standing water to deposit their eggs. That implies that several hundred eggs will be laid after your last mosquito bite. Those eggs will hatch into larvae in a day or two.
When they eat the BTI, the larvae will die. They will never mature into the flying, buzzing, disease-carrying adult mosquitoes.
Simple, safe, highly effective, and long-lasting pest prevention and control is now a reality.
We produce the Dunk'inator™ Containment System and sell it to consumers.
Mosquito Dunks® can be bought separately from nearly all hardware stores, garden centers, Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply retail stores, Walmart, Amazon.com, or directly from Summit Chemical Company.

The mesh pouch is made of ultrasonically welded plastic-coated fiber that is water and UV-resistant. The hooks for the metal clips are stainless steel. .
Dunk'inator™ pouches have not shown any signs of deterioration after five years of use in a rain gutter during all four seasons. The clips are good for two or more mosquito seasons, depending on your local conditions.
Clip replacements are available in our store.
Depending on your area's rainfall levels, the Mosquito Dunks® may need to be replaced after three to four months in order to effectively control mosquitoes.
RJM Products Company testing has shown that Mosquito Dunks® remain effective for up to six months of use.
We've included some images with our test results at the bottom of this page.
Dunk'inators™ are weather resistant and impervious to water and UV.
The clip hooks can show some signs of corrosion based on the rain gutter material and purity of the rain water.
Although the Dunk'inator™ pouch and clip hooks can withstand winter weather (ice, snow and below freezing temperatures) we do advise the removal of the Dunk'inators™ to allow for cleaning any residual remnants of the Mosquito Dunks®.
This also prepares them for the following mosquito season.
All that is required is the insertion of a new Mosquito Dunk and placed back in the rain gutter.
Dunk'inators™ are designed to be re-used. The Dunk'inator™ pouches have been successfully reused for at least five years, but the Mosquito Dunks® will need to be replaced. It may be necessary to replace the metal clip hooks sooner. Replacement clip hooks are available in our store.
Very good question. We advise adding a weight to the pouch in locations with heavy rainfall so that, in the unlikely event that it overflows, it remains inside the rain gutter. Three or four small stainless steel nuts, four or five pennies, or a comparable fishing weight can be added to the pouch.
One Mosquito Dunk® is sufficient to protect a rain gutter up to 200 feet in length. For gutters up to 100 feet, you can use half of a Dunk®. A whole Mosquito Dunk® can be used for convenience and extended efficacy.
This is the one of the main reasons we developed the Dunk'inator™.
Attempting to tie a Mosquito Dunk® to a rain gutter with a piece of string while standing on a roof edge, bending down on a pitched roof or leaning off to one side on a ladder is dangerous.
Since Mosquito Dunks® float, they could rise up and float over the edge of the rain gutter if they are tied with a length of string, becoming useless and have to be re-positioned.
Mosquito Dunks® dissolve, so their structural integrity weakens over time, so there is no guarantee that a Dunk® tied into the rain gutter will remain in place and not break free during its useful life, rendering it useless.
Dunk'inators™ can be loaded with a Mosquito Dunk® on the ground, and just hooked on to a rain gutter end. The process of hooking it on takes only a few seconds.
The Dunkinator pouch is specifically designed to allow the necessary amount of BTI to flow through the openings.
The Dunk'inator™ keeps the Mosquito Dunk® in place, for the life of the Dunk.
